The 9th edition of the HUM Awards hosted at London’s OVO Arena Wembley celebrated the best in Pakistani television.
The event was a night of glamour, featuring performances and honors for stars like Yumna Zaidi, Hamza Sohail and Mawra Hocane.
The awards are a significant cultural moment, demanding a sophisticated and visually stunning setup to captivate both the live audience and viewers around the world.
THE BRIEF
With Encore managing the technical production, they entrusted 80six to deliver high-resolution LED displays and media server solutions, crucial for showcasing the event’s dynamic visual content.
The scale of this event—both in terms of its cultural significance and technical requirements, especially in rigging and video —demanded a collaborative strategic approach to ensure both on-site and broadcast audiences experienced flawless visuals.
THE SOLUTION
80six delivered a mixed LED solution with a combination of 810 x 2mm and 326 x 3mm LED panels across 26 screens to accommodate various camera angles. ROE Visual Black Pearl and ROE Visual Carbon 3 LED panels were paired with Brompton SX40 processing, ensuring superior image quality during close-up and on wider shots.
A significant aspect of the project was the custom rigging solutions for both flown and ground-stacked LED walls set at varying angles. This made the setup highly complex, but detailed pre-production with Encore ensured everything ran according to plan.
The tight rigging schedule—requiring 90% completion in just 18 hours—was managed by splitting the crew into shifts, ensuring fresh eyes were always on hand to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
